Basic principles of art are applied to create a three dimensional form of using shading techniques to create the illusion of depth.

Nipple-Areola enhancement procedure is when pigment is deposited in to the dermal layer of the skin on the breasts to restore a natural looking color to the reconstructed areola. It is the re-pigmentation of this area on the skin that renders a realistic looking areola and at the same time minimizes the appearance of scars.

The 3-D nipple and areola tattoo is a work of art that looks like an authentic nipple. A 3D tattoo adds color and shading to the breast to make the nipple look like it's raised, but the tattooed nipple is actually flat to the touch in most cases. While a tattoo cannot produce the projection required to be truly “3-D”, a high quality detailed tattoo can appear to have dimension much like a real nipple and areola. Shading, shadows and other artistic skills make the tattoos look just like real nipples, and it helps patients feel confident in their breasts once again. The inks used for nipple tattooing are mixed to create the most realistic appearance possible and the artist will create a shade resembles the patient’s original nipple if that is what is desired. Typically, we offer a followup appointment for the breast services to ensure the color and details desired are achieved.
Most importantly, it is safe to receive this treatment once you get a "go for it" from your doctor and with at least 3 months of healing time to pass after the date of your final surgery before scheduling your procedure.
